Nothing here is experimental
Sildenafil has been prescribed since 1998 and tadalafil since 2003. Between them they account for an enormous share of every erectile dysfunction prescription written anywhere. Their side effect profiles, their interactions and their contraindications are about as thoroughly documented as any drug in circulation. If you are looking for a proprietary compound with a mechanism nobody can explain, this is the wrong product.
Sildenafil
The molecule behind Viagra®
It occupies PDE5, the enzyme whose job is to mop up cGMP — the messenger arousal releases to let arterial walls slacken and fill. Occupy the enzyme and the messenger survives longer, so an ordinary amount of arousal travels considerably further.
Its contribution to this tablet is speed. Absorbed beneath the tongue it sidesteps the stomach entirely, which is what makes a quarter-hour start a reasonable expectation rather than a marketing figure.
Tadalafil
The molecule behind Cialis®
Identical target, entirely different pacing. Tadalafil is unhurried arriving and then lingers, which is where the up-to-36-hours figure attached to this class of drug comes from.
What that buys is not stamina but the end of scheduling. Nothing has to be arranged around a tablet, and for most men that turns out to be the change that actually registers.
How they differ in practice
Both bind the same enzyme. What separates them is how quickly they get there and how long they stay. Sildenafil reaches useful concentration quickly and is largely gone within hours. Tadalafil takes its time building and then has a half-life measured in tens of hours, which is where the thirty-six-hour figure attached to that molecule originates.
The practical consequence is that one of them solves the beginning of the problem and the other solves the end of it, and neither solves the other's half. Prescribed separately, a man picks which inconvenience he prefers. Prescribed together, he does not have to.
Sublingual delivery, and why it is not a gimmick
The choice of format is not cosmetic. A swallowed tablet is subject to first-pass metabolism: a meaningful share of the dose is broken down by the liver before it ever reaches the rest of the body. That fraction varies between people and varies with what is in the stomach at the time.
Sublingual absorption bypasses that. Part of the dose enters through the mucosa beneath the tongue and travels directly into circulation. That means a shorter and more predictable runway, much less sensitivity to a recent meal, and no need for water or a private moment with a glass.
Under the tongue, undisturbed
Chewing it or swallowing it whole returns the dose to the slow route the format exists to avoid. Place it, leave it, and wait a few minutes before eating or drinking.
What is not in it
There is no herbal component, no proprietary blend and no vitamin premix. There is no testosterone and nothing hormonal. If a product promises the effects of a prescription PDE5 inhibitor from a botanical formula sold without a prescription, either the claim is untrue or the product contains something undisclosed — both are worth avoiding.
